RaifukuRaifuku Bonquet Assemblage
ジャイヴ
On December 30, the day before New Year's Eve, we had our annual rice cake pounding event.
This time, we put in all the rice left over from the previous year, so we had to pound 30% more rice than the previous year, and it was late in the evening 💦.
We were tired, but we were ready to welcome the New Year, so we had a party with our regular drinking buddies to forget the year ✨.
After quenching our thirst with Akahoshi at Donjaya, which had a good selection of sake the last time we were here, we shifted to sake, which was the first thing we ordered 🍶.
Raifuku Raifuku Bonquet Assemblage.
Complex floral rice aroma, gorgeous umami with a full mouthfeel, and a clean, crisp finish with a lingering bitterness that lingers on the tip of the tongue.
The initial aroma was unique and initially puzzled me, but as I got used to drinking it, the gentle umami and sharpness kept my appetite going.
Just when you think you're off to a good start, here comes the runaway as a way to wrap up the year 🤣.
