Katano cherry
Eurya japonica (species of evergreen related to sakaki)
It tasted heavy and robust with Yamahai.
The name comes from Katano, the old name of the area where the Amano River, the place of origin of the Japanese Tanabata legend, is located nearby and was also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot during the Heian period (794-1185).
I had it for lunch at Sushi Juraku in Kitashinchi when I visited Osaka.
