Saku City and Ueda Sake Brewery Event Last
The last one was Kutsunokake Shuzo's Fukumugari Yamae Nishiki light nigori (^o^), which I had originally planned to visit in the afternoon. When I drank it, the aroma was faint and the sweetness not so much. The aftertaste is firm with umami and acidity coming through.
The brewer told me how difficult it is to make sake with Yamae-Nishiki. The farmers have a hard time growing the rice because it has just been produced, and the brewery also has a hard time because the quality of the rice varies. The taste is so delicious that it does not make you feel that way. I bow my head when I hear about such hardships.
I was really happy because I had never had a chance to actually talk to the brewery staff like this. It was worth being the first one to arrive at the brewery. (Laughs) Since there were not many people there, I was recommended to come back a second week, and I took their word for it.
The characteristics of Saku City and Ueda City's sakes are the apple aroma, which seems to be caproic acid. And I thought all the sakes were well-balanced with a moderate level of acidity. And all of them are really delicious and of a high level. It is not only Kamerei (laugh), but also because I was able to drink a variety of sakes at one time.
Now that I have had my fill of sake, I want to move on to soba noodles 😄.
