My relatives were returning to their hometown a month late, so I joined them for a drinking party.
I brought Sogen, a sake from Ishikawa Prefecture.
The Sogen I usually drink is a honjozo, but this time it was a junmai ginjo Omachi.
It lacked the sweetness and umami that one gets when drinking honjozo, and was rather easy to drink and refreshing. However, as one would expect from Sogen, there is a certain aftertaste that is hard to describe.
Because it is a Noto sake, it goes best with sashimi. It was the first Sogen in a while, and it was delicious. I am satisfied.
