I got an unopened bottle of Hakkaisan that had been sitting at my parents' house.
I don't usually drink honjozo, but perhaps because it is made with 55% polished rice, it doesn't have the brewer's alcohol taste that I expected. I tried it with shellfish sashimi and Yamato-nimono (whale stew), and it seemed to buff up the flavor of the entree. It is a good food sake.
