I miss the unique flavor that is as good as whiskey, and sometimes I want to drink Takezuru.
This time I will have something aged for almost 5 years from 2018!
When opened and poured, it has a very fragrant aroma like barley tea or oolong tea.
It has a robust mouthfeel, with a Sake meter rating of +11, and a strong pungency and acidity. It has a strong and mellow flavor like barley shochu.
It also has a hint of sesame and rubbery aroma that is as addictive as ever ✨.
However, the sesame and rubbery notes may be due to the 5-year aging process, as I have never felt them before.
It is a nostalgic taste that reminds me of my grandparents' house and the Buddhist altar 👍.
In my mind, Akagisan is to the east and Taketsuru is to the west.
I am sure that this time of the year it will be great warmed up, and I will enjoy it with hot pots and other dishes 🍲.
