kittasannI got a bottle of Tokachi Honjozo, which is distributed only in the Tokachi region, at a certain place in Tokyo! I'm glad to know that it's not easy to find locally brewed sake outside of my hometown, where the brewery is located.
I chilled it in the freezer for about 30 minutes before serving.
Almost no aroma, with a hint of peach and melon. The flavor is moderately alcoholic and also fruity.
The taste is clean and dry with bitterness, sizzling umami, and the sweetness of the rice passing through the gulp.
This sake is very easy to drink, with none of the throat burning or harsh alcohol taste often associated with honjozo sake! It is a great all-around sake that can be served with meals, snacks, or on its own. Is this really a honjozo sake?
I want to move to Tokachi ...... lol
