Amabuki純米吟醸 雄町 いちご酵母 生
きゅうり
I haven't had "Amabuki" for a long time, maybe 3-4 years.
I saw it at a liquor store and bought it because I wanted to drink Amabuki.
This Amabuki, made with Omachi and Ichigo yeast, won a gold medal at the 2022 IWC (International Salmon Challenge) held this past April.
There is an anecdote about this sake that it became the talk of the town the following year when footage of Arashi's Aiba helping to prepare this sake was shown during the 2010 Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White singing contest).
The first thing you taste is the slightly spicy flavor that is typical of Japanese sake, followed by the ginjo aroma. The ginjo aroma comes after that, and I don't think it has a strong fruity flavor such as strawberry. This is just my personal opinion.
