I got this 180ml of Gunma Izumi when I went to Maebashi, Gunma the other day for a day trip to a roadside station and other places.
The label "Namahashi-ryu Yamahai-Honjozo", the rice polishing ratio, and the ingredients name made me wonder if it was the 180ml Yamahai-Honjozo that is so popular among those who drink warmed sake in the evenings. I wondered if it was a 180ml of Yamahai Honjozo, a popular choice for warmed sake drinkers, but then I saw "Ginjo" on the back of the bottle and wondered if it was a different type.
It has a clear but firm rice flavor, a slightly refined but hard-edged mouthfeel, a slight matured aroma, depth, and a hint that it would be delicious when heated.
I think it is a good sake, and a 180ml bottle would be very useful on a drinking trip.
