The name sounds like something out of Rurouni Kenshin. Tomita Shuzo, a long-established brewery in Shiga Prefecture that has been in business for about 500 years since the Warring States Period, is a brewery that has been in business for about 500 years since the Warring States Period. Named after the seven young warriors who led Hideyoshi to the top of the world, the Seven Spears of Shichihon-Yari at Shizugatake, this sake is said to be popular as a good-luck sake. It is interesting to note that there are various Shichihon-yari throughout Japan. The rice used to make this sake is Tamasakae, a locally produced sake rice. It is grown completely without pesticides. In recent years, all sake breweries have been using enamel tanks for ease of management, but in 2020, they resumed the use of wooden vats for brewing. Kinowa was created with the image of "circulation" to pass on tradition and technology to the next generation. The label's stylish design is based on the motif of a wooden hoop.
