Chokki
Ryuko Coiled Junmai Sake YAMADANISHIKI
60%, 17%, 720 ml, 2,650 yen? (1518 yen)
A great sake was sent to us by a friend in Akita.
The name of the sake is "Ryuban", a serious sake from Suzuki Shuzoten, the brewer of "Shuyoshi". Even the label is full of enthusiasm.
There is a price sticker on the bottle, but it costs a hefty 2,650 yen!
Oh, it's already a hit from the aroma. The first sip of the bottle.
Oh, wow. Thick and juicy. The fruitiness is like the middle of a pineapple and a melon. Gorgeous flavor. The aftertaste has a pleasant bitterness like an herb. This herbal taste may not be for some people.
If you keep drinking it, it will become a little stale, so it is best suited for the first drink. According to the information on the Internet, it is a slightly dry sake, but the sweetness is more easily perceived. If you are eating, the fruity taste can be a little distracting.
When heated, it is quite good. The characteristics come out fully, and the acidity increases.
I looked it up later and found the regular price to be 1518 yen, which tastes like a 2000 yen premium sake. I wonder if the price sticker was raised because it is reputed to be harder to find than Shinsei.
