A sake brewery that stands along the road leading to Tanikkusan Kegonji Temple, the concluding temple of the 33 sacred places in the western part of Japan. The brewery was founded in 1884. The toji, Seiichiro Otsuka, studied brewing at Tokyo University of Agriculture, and worked as a sake brewer at Motosaka Sake Brewery in Mie Prefecture, which brews "Hachibei Sake Brewery". In 2010, he returned to his own brewery and launched a new brand, Takejaku. His goal is to create a delicious sake that is both strong and sharp, and is very satisfying to drink. He especially focuses on "Yamahai" and does most of the work by himself with the support of his family. This brewery is a hot brewery in Gifu Prefecture, and was selected in an event produced by former soccer player Hidetoshi Nakata in 2016 to announce the 100 best sake breweries in Japan.
