I have long been curious about a Daily Yamazaki store on a street I pass by frequently that had a sign that said "Sake only available here". However, I never took a closer look at the sign because I felt as if I was a stranger to the liquor store. Finally, today, I took the time to check the sign, entered the store, and purchased a bottle. I was told that the sake brewer's association in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, commissioned a sake brewery in Fukushima to produce this sake.
It is a pure honjozo sake, with a fruity aroma and a beautiful clear color. It has an elegant "sweetness" rather than sweetness, and a clean, refreshing taste typical of honjozo. For 1,250 yen, this is...
So-called "dry". It is indeed dry. But what stands out is the elegant sweetness. This is delicious.
