Chokki
Yamazaru Tokubetsu Junmai Kairanto
15% 60% 720ml 1540yen
This is my first sake. It is made from rice called Koku Ryou Miyako, which has been my personal focus recently.
I feel that Koku Ryoto has a slightly rustic flavor, and perhaps because of the character for "grain" in its name, it has a graininess to it. It also reminds me of sweet potatoes and chestnuts. I bought it to answer this question.
The first sip after opening the bottle.
It is strong and mellow. It is sweet and spicy, and very drinkable. It also has a graininess that is characteristic (I think) of Koriyanto, or a rustic feel, in a good way.
It is best served at room temperature or lukewarm.
The sweetness is too strong, so it might be better if it were a little less sweet.
