I look forward to drinking healthy and delicious sake again this year.
On New Year's Day, my father gave me a bottle of his favorite!
A bottle of Jyushiyo! I got a small batch of it the year before last, and it was really delicious. I am looking forward to it!
It's light and watery, but has the umami that is typical of sake, with a sour aftertaste that is not at all unpleasant. It's really good. It's fresh, but not too tangy. It has a great balance and clean taste. It has a complex sweetness and spiciness, deep flavor, and yet it's straightforwardly delicious. I'd drink this in a heartbeat!
That's how I got hooked on nama-zake.
Apparently the bottle had to be returned to the liquor store, so the photo is from my parents' house.
