It's a combination of sake and plum wine and my top two favorite drinks of all time.
I happened to find it in a liquor store once, where you can drink all the sake you want, and I was hooked on dotsots. As soon as I drank it, a voice came down from the heavens and said, "This is it," echoing in my head. I came back and bought it in seconds.
It is characterized by the rich flavor of plum wine and a complex flavor like that of cram wine. It has a slightly rotten, peculiar plum aroma, which is very appealing. The color is also muddy and the density is apparent. This is the result of the manufacturer's persistence in concentrating the original flavor of the ingredients without any filtration, preservatives, coloring agents or other additives.
As is the case with plum wine, my favorite way to drink it is on the rocks in a whiskey glass, but considering the sake factor, a hot glass is also a no-brainer.
This is a great way to try home-aged old sake.
