The origin of the brand name "Chouyo Fukumusume", which is a sake produced in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is that at the time of its founding, the brewer's family had a succession of girls, and the name was given in the hope that the children would grow up to be good, happy children.
My own daughter celebrated her third birthday, so I opened a bottle in honor of the origin!
I imagined it would have a refreshing taste because it is a dry junmai, but it has a little sweetness and you can taste the flavor of the rice. The fresh aroma and the lingering aftertaste made me think that this is a superb food sake. Yamaguchi is home to many delicious sake brands such as Ottersai, Toyo Bijin, Gangi, Tenbi, Kinjaku, but Chouyou Fukumusume was also very tasty!
