A lucky label reminiscent of Kohaku (red and white).
As an offering for New Year's Eve.
Open the bottle gently.
The top aroma is elegant and fruity, like melon.
The mouthfeel is bubbly, but the gaseous sensation is mild. It is not a substitute for champagne.
Surprisingly, the acidity comes first, followed by sweetness and a bit of a sizzle, then a tangy sake sensation, and a short aftertaste.
There is a gap between the red and white label and the image of flashy sweet and fruity due to the year-end bias.
The balance of Hououmida's not only gorgeous but also bitterness and acidity is still there, and it can be matched with both sashimi and meat.
Hanafulu is Heki-ban and Akaban Kasumi is a little sweet balance.
