I had seen some of my predecessors in the sake drinking community in Fukui reviewing it with rave reviews, so I was quite curious about this brand, and finally had a chance to drink it!
I had imagined it would have a retro flavor, but it has a fruity aroma on the palate! I was convinced that it would be a good choice to drink at the festival, so I bought it and am drinking it now. I wonder if the sake level is really this high? It is quite sweet and spicy just right. It is high in alcohol content, but it doesn't feel like alcohol.
It's a junmai with a deep nostalgia, and it seems to be popular with sake drinkers of all ages. This brewery has a wide range of sake. The mainstay Daiginjo and Jungin (Isshu-kyojo) are sometimes retro.
The sake is good and the cloth labels are beautiful! I wonder if they are making a profit? I don't think I've ever seen it outside of Sakai City, so I'd love to buy some as a souvenir. I remember seeing it at the Happirin Fukunin Ki near the station.
I drink it with an Echizen ware sake cup, but I would like to try it with various types of sake cups.
