The 4th bottle of Shinsei-kai No.6 Kamikuni Ryoyu Type I opened a bottle of No.6 S-type at the same time. When I opened the bottle, there was not much difference and I wondered if it was worth the price. Specifically in the mouthfeel, I felt that there was little to no acidity. On the other hand, at this point, the complexity of the aroma and aftertaste was better here, but was it that much better? I thought. After opening the bottle, No. 6s don't tend to grow in flavor unless they've been aged for a long time, and they tend to lose a lot of flavor, especially after 2019. This one, however, just keeps growing and growing. It just keeps getting more complex and more interesting. This is one of the Shinsei 10th Anniversary commemorative sakes that is playing it straight, and I think it lives up to that expectation.
