Takatsugu
I had been curious about this shochu at a local liquor store, but the timing wasn't right and it was my first time to try it. I was excited to try it because it was my favorite Akaban Omachi, and because it was a draft sake from the Nishi Shuzo brewery, which I had always loved shochu.
The flavor was mellow and robust. It is beautiful but has a strong core flavor, which is slightly similar to that of Hozan shochu. It seems to be a good food sake that can be easily matched with rich flavored dishes.
There are many sake that I have yet to encounter, so this is one that makes me wish I had traveled all over the country. Delicious ‼️
