I drank Shichida's Junmai Ginjo 13. Shichida has a strong image of being a full-bodied rice drinker, but this seems to be a new product that aims to have both the low alcohol content (13%) and the typical Shichida flavor of rice while still being light in taste.
Fruity notes of melon and pear.
The mouthfeel is definitely light, with some gasiness like a fresh wine. The taste is fresh and sweet like a pear, with just the right amount of acidity. It is very easy to drink with a light impression.
I drank a bottle of Shichida a long time ago, but it still doesn't have much of a Shichida feel to it. It must be difficult to balance the two. It's just plain good, and I would have liked it even better if it had more of the typical Shichida flavor.
