Nagasaki's edible rice, Nikkomaru, is used as the base rice for this classic (?) sake from Jiran. Sake Not listed in the specs, but pouring: "Tosu Nigori". The nose has a fruity aroma with hints of pear and apple, which is common in nigori sake. It has a soft sweetness, but with the same amount of lactic acidity, it is as sweet and sour as calpis. The taste is distinctly sweet and gives the impression of being simply sweet rather than sweet and sour. The fruity sweetness like pear or apple spreads, and the acidity finishes the taste refreshingly. Easy to drink and delicious! It does not have the same impact as Happy New Born, but it is a very tasty sake.
