川水流
The bottle arrived much later than last year. Please see the second picture for specs. The store that handled it was closed last Thursday, so we guessed that it was sold to the local community. When we checked first thing the next morning, Friday, there were no draft bottles, only one fire-aged Yongo bottle and a few Isehoto bottles. There were no draft bottles, only one fire-brewed four-pack and a few one-sho bottles. This was all that was sold to the public. The difference between hi-ire and nama-zake was quite small. The sake had less umami flavor than last year, but this was due to the quality of the rice and not the toji's fault. To put it bluntly, it is due to the poor quality of this year's rice. This is not only the case in Nagano Prefecture, but also in Akita and Yamagata prefectures. For Miyamanishiki, this summer was too hot. The cold-weather rice has been affected, and it is inevitable that future sake releases will be affected as well. It is not yet known if Yamada-Nishiki or Aiyama, sake rice grown in Hyogo and other prefectures, will be affected.
