The Tanaka Sake Brewery has a 380-year history and is located along the sea and mountains, close to Kenshin Uesugi's Kasuga Mountain and the Naoetsu Bathing Beach. The name of the brewery is said to have originated from the initials of the store name "Notoya" (when sake was transported to Ishikawa Prefecture by ship) and the owner's motto from 1943, "A hawk with a hawk hides its talons.
