The brewery was founded in 1920 when four local volunteers brought rice to the brewery and started brewing sake, and the brand name was initially "Sawanotomo" because of its origin. The name was changed to "Sawanoizumi" in 1960 from "the name of the place (Nakazawa) and the spring water" because the water was used. It is a robust, mild, slightly dry sake. It is slightly ripe, with a hint of chestnut and its sweetness. However, there is a hint of fruity aroma at the top of the nose. This is the 624th one-cup, one-pack festival bottle. The cup depicts a swan that comes to Izunuma, located in the western part of Tome City, where the brewery is located, every autumn.
