I guess people do a double-take when they find a brand they've always wanted to drink in the liquor store fridge.
First impressions are of a slightly fruity sake with a light and sweet aroma. It's not as fragrant as I had expected, but it's a light, umakei sake that comes in easily. Of course, there is no sense of being caught by the alcohol. And I have a feeling that the expression will change a bit as time passes after opening the bottle.
Still, it's as good as the rumors say. Personally, it's one of the best in the Fukushima battleground (from the top).
I was lucky to find a liquor store that sold it at a fixed price, while it was at a premium everywhere. I'm also interested in why this brand is called "Tobiroki" and not "Hiroki", so I'd like to visit some sake breweries.
At any rate, I'm happy to have filled another spot on my "meeha" sake checklist. (Holy shit!)
