When I was in Nagoya about ten years ago, I used to drink Houraisen. If you buy it at a supermarket, you can choose a blue one on a white background. If you want to drink it at a bar, you should buy the one with the old man's face on the white background.
I guess the reason why long-established breweries are constantly challenging themselves to attract new customers is to protect their old-fashioned sake, such as Bessen and Kani.
I like old-fashioned sake. It is hard to find sake that can be drunk cold or warmed up and still taste good.
It must be winter, but saury and horse mackerel are delicious.
