It has been somewhat of a while. The vernal equinox has passed and the weather is getting warmer, although it is often subtle. Walking around town, I see cherry blossoms with buds on them and feel the arrival of spring. (Some places seem to be in full bloom, but maybe I just haven't noticed.) Speaking of spring, the menus at izakaya (Japanese style pubs) are also becoming more spring-like. Just being able to eat seasonal foods and drink seasonal sake makes me feel glad to be born a Japanese.
So, in keeping with spring, we will be serving our annual Mimurosugi and Hana-kun. Oorigara-mi. I think I drank it last year, but anyway, it is an easy-drinking 13% sake. It is sweet and slightly tangy. It is exactly the kind of sake you want to drink while admiring the cherry blossoms. It's fine to drink by itself, but if you dare, I think you can drink it with something that goes well with white wine. Also, I think it would be good with light fish. With this brand, daytime drinking is OK! (lol) Feel free to do it!
