oniononiThis is a new brand from a local brewery, Akita Shuzo. They have a new brewer, a young local university graduate with a bald head and glasses. Akita Shuzo also makes a very nice sake called Drunken Rakuten. It's a bit expensive, but really good. I had high hopes for this one too.
It is a raw sake and has a sharpness. The sourness and sweetness are noticeable, and the aroma is there too, although I'm not sure how to describe it. If you ask me if it's good or not, it's not bad. It's my favorite Akita brewery, so I'll be a little dry in my comments, but I think it's a little bland. I've seen similar names for sake in Miyagi, but I still felt the concept of the brewery.
The Akita Shuzo brewery has released various labels such as Drunk Rakuten, Shinyashu, and Yoitto. It is true to say that they have their own individuality, but I want them to aim one step higher as a whole.
