I found and bought this sake on a business trip to Akita the other day, and I've finally opened it! The rice is Akita Sakekomachi, and it's a pure rice ginjo with a 45% polishing ratio. The first thing that jumps out at you when you open the bottle is the elegant ginjo aroma. The aroma is colorless and fruity. When you put it in your mouth...what? And when you roll it around in your mouth...well...what? It's a normal tasty sake, but it doesn't have that much of an impact. But the moment you try to pour it down your throat, it all blossoms at once! The sweetness of the rice, the ginjo aroma reminiscent of green apples, and the strength of the sake all spread in your mouth at the same time. It has a peculiarity that lingers in the throat in a good way. It is the same no matter how many times you drink it, it is shocking. Delicious! It was cold when we first started drinking it, but after a little while, the flavors mellowed, and it's even better! Thanks to the proprietor of the liquor store who introduced me to it! I'm always amazed by Akita's sake. I can feel the hard work and dedication that goes into making sake. This is why I can't stop drinking sake!
