From the back label...
This product is a Junmai Ginjo-shu with a touch of Muscat in "Ho'o Bida", and a freshness of new shochu, a fresh aroma reminiscent of green apples and berries, and a juicy acidity. Yamada-Nishiki and Gohyakumangoku were used as raw materials, and we selected an unrefined shochu that expresses the right balance and quality for Hekiban. In order to achieve a clear quality target, Hokuobita is one of the few shochu producers that do not list the rice used in making this shochu.
It's a winter-only product...
Brilliant aroma, sweet and sour, good lingering aftertaste
Beautiful acidity, soft sweetness, a full rice flavor, gentle on the palate, pleasant aroma...delicious!
Beautiful, yet full of flavor... a masterpiece to be enjoyed...
There aren't that many varieties, but this is the best Ho'oubiden I've tasted in a long time... I'll have to try the red seal next time!
