It's hard to get motivated to work after GW... 😓. I myself have been relaxing at home drinking and studying 📖🤣 lol. Yesterday, when I came to work for the first time in a while, I received a gift of sake from a junior colleague 😅. He seemed to have taken to heart the fact that I had deliberately jokingly told him before the holiday weekend that if he was going on a trip, he should buy me some sake (not power harassment 💦)...I'm not that kind of a character 🫨. I'm sorry for the long preamble, but... this is a Junmai-shu from Umegae Shuzo (💁), a sake brewed by Umegae. It's really positioned as a souvenir sake that seems to be mainly distributed locally 🤔. So, I opened the bottle assuming it was a dry and light sake ❗️, which is typical for this kind of sake 🍶. There is not so much aroma, but some alu feeling. The first sip from the first sip, oops! The mouthfeel is quite smooth, but there is a nice spiciness in the flavor...honestly, it is quite tasty, exceeding my expectations 😋. It's definitely a food sake, but it has a sharpness that only a dry sake can have, and it doesn't interfere with the food👍. Well, well... you can't understand sake only by preconceived notions: 🙂‍↕️ I don't have time to heat it up since it's 300ml... but I'm sure you'll enjoy a different taste when it's warmed up 🤩. The second day was stable and dry with almost no change in taste due to the fact that it is a fire-aged Junmai sake👍.
