It may be the most beautiful sake name I know.
Rare sake from Shimotsuma that I got from my hometown 😊.
The name was apparently chosen from a public contest to evoke the image of a purple loosestrife.
Since there is no sake brewing company in Shimotsuma City, Raifuku Sake Brewery in neighboring Chikusei City produces it.
Actually, I had never had Raifuku before, but it seems somewhat similar to Morishima, Gokeijo, and Watarabune, which are also made in Ibaraki 😄.
It is an easy-drinking, delicious sake with a refreshing sweetness and a gentle spiciness in the aftertaste that makes the drink go down a treat 😋.
