We received a gift from a sake friend in Kyoto as a toast to the New Year with a New Year's Day meal. The black bottle with gold letters "fully ripe" was a festive touch.
I had never seen this brand before, so I searched the internet and found that a 1.5 liter bottle costs 22,000 yen (‼️) and the 180 ml bottle I received was 1,000 yen, so the small bottle is less expensive 😳 It is a raw sake made from 35% polished Yamadanishiki and fermented at a low temperature. It was carefully crafted and Kyoto-like sake that would go well with kaiseki cuisine.
