Kraft saké is fermented by adding apples to rice and rice malt. The apple is Beni no Yume, a Yokote-grown apple for cooking. It is said to be characterized by its red flesh and high acidity. The aroma is not the same as that of Capueti sake, but rather, it is reminiscent of red vegetable juice, with hints of real apple juice, tomatoes, and carrots. The taste is complex, like vegetable juice at first. Then the sweet and savory taste of apple and rice comes out, and it finishes with the sharp sourness of apple. Fruity, sweet and sour, and easy to drink. But I'm not sure if it's good or not. At least, I don't think it's as obvious and delicious as rice and hops. It tastes like a hard cider with the sweetness and umami of sake, and once you get used to it, it has the potential to be addictive, but it might be a little bit too much for some people at first.
