A short trip to Shiga Prefecture to celebrate my mother's 77th birthday.
We went to Fujii Honke for a tour of the sake brewery.
An elderly man with a great love for sake guided us around the brewery.
He let us hold a cedar ball, which my mother was very happy to see because it was much heavier than she had expected. We were also allowed to drink the brewing water and taste various kinds of sake, but when I took a sip of this sake, I felt a strong sensation in my nose! When I took a sip of this sake, it was like a sharp taste on my nose? Or was it too dry? I thought it was too mature sake. However, when I drank it a second time after some time had passed, I felt a refreshing sensation in my mouth with a hint of sweetness without any cloying taste. I thought I was not good at this type of sake, but I could honestly say that it was delicious. I purchased it and had sake lovers drink it. Everyone was very pleased with the taste.

The strength of the alcohol was a bit of an issue for me, but there is no doubt that it is a delicious drink. Once you get used to the alcohol, you may not mind the initial strength.
