Today we enjoyed another sake from Gifu Prefecture. The main brand of Hara Sake Brewery in Shirotori, Gujo City, is Motobun. We purchased this bottle at the brewery. The aroma is not so much a ginjo aroma as an intoxicating aroma characteristic of sake. The mouthfeel is smooth and sweet with a touch of alcohol. In fact, Misogi-hagi and this Motobun have strong feelings for each other. When Misogihagi was working in Gujo Hachiman, the sake sold at the restaurant where he worked was this Motobun, which he bought privately because he wanted to try it from the aroma when he was making hot sake. Incidentally, Misogihagi was not familiar with classifications at the time, and bought junmai sake, although the sake sold at the store was honjozo. Misogi-hagi was so delicious after drinking this Genbun that I became a drinking buddy. Now Misogi Hagi has changed jobs and is drinking madly at YAMAOKU, but the first time he drank Kusudama and this Motofumi, which was the turning point for him as a drinking grui, are absolute classics.
