According to what Mr. Iwanami Shuzo told us the other day, this local sake was originally made by a sake brewery called Kikusui Brewery in the former Shiga Village, and was distributed only locally.
However, due to the downsizing of the brewery, the production was outsourced to Iwanami Brewery in Matsumoto City, and the brewery was later closed.
As a result, Mr. Iwanami is still making sake bearing the Gekko name for local people who love local sake.
I can guess.
The taste is, well, ordinary.
Postscript. A reminder.
I did not see it at all in Matsumoto city, but it was usually sold at a supermarket in Akebona.
