Tonight we will have a drink at an izakaya in Kannawa.
The izakaya offers a wide selection of local sake, with sake from about 10 breweries in the prefecture starting at 800 yen per glass, and a three-sake drink comparison for 1,200 yen, where you can choose from sweet, dry, or clear sake. The photo shows the three types of sake.
Hanashimi is a brand I had never tried before. It has a beautiful flavor, followed by a hint of umami. It would be delicious at room temperature or heated. I asked the waitress if they served heated sake, but to my disappointment, she said only cold sake. The waiter told us that they only serve cold sake, and that the Hanashoumi was recently introduced on TV and is very popular and hard to find.
I wish I could buy some as a souvenir. But I can only buy two four-pack bottles because of my luggage. What should I buy?
In any case, chicken tempura and ryukyu are definitely the way to go!
