The name "Goryoku" was taken from the posthumous name of the founder, Goichiro, and the ninth lord of the Mito domain, Nariaki Tokugawa. I don't want to compare it to other liquors, but the top aroma is like grappa or unaged whiskey, and the taste is like tequila or rice shochu, in other words, it is very peculiar. It's rare to find a liquor that tastes so much like a distilled spirit. There is no sweetness, and it is a dry sake, but people who like shochu will be comfortable with it. It's a good name for a strong shochu. I was surprised at the difference in impression from the last time I drank it. Maybe the sweetness comes out when it is cold.
